A great opportunity for an individual to join the design & development phase in Eldon Tool & Engineering Ltd.

We at Eldon design & make our own tooling solutions to the automotive sector and thrive on coming up with the innovation for cost effect tooling used on all type of vehicles.

This is a permanent opportunity on regular day shift and are looking to recruit for the design & development department.

This position is aimed at employing an individual to learn over the next 4 years all the skills to become an accomplished engineering technician and ultimately taking over from the current engineer upon his retirement.

The candidate will possess a willingness to learn through mentoring and through practical hands on application in the making of samples for our testing process.

The candidate would be taught to use engineering skills needed to be able to make the range of prototypes that we make for evaluation using various industrial equipment, for example:

  • Bench Marking & Layout
  • Manual Lathe Turning
  • Manual & Cnc Milling machines
  • Surface Grinding
  • Band saw
  • Tool & Cutter Grinding
  • Bench Fitting
  • Fabrication & Welding
  • Testing & Validation
  • Design & Draughting
  • Quality checking
  • Jig & Fixture design and manufacture to support the production department.

Required skills: 

A good level of Maths, English would be desired. Outgoing & confident personality. A team player who can also work on your own initiative. 

You must have a keen interest in how things work and how they are made. 

This role will suit someone who relishes the chance to be doing things that enables them to find solutions to engineering tasks. 

As a starting point the salary will be in line with the minimum wage for your age. As this is a development role, salary will be reviewed when new skills are developed.
